2nd Grade Clay Owls:
2nd graders learned how to construct a clay sculpture by using slabs of clay. Students learned how to flatten clay into a slab, how to use clay tools to cut out a variety of shapes, how to press textures into clay, and how to slip & score to attach clay pieces together.
The learning Targets for this project were:
- I can use and combine slabs of clay to create a 3-D sculpture.
- I can create actual texture.
- I can use the slip & score technique to attach one piece of clay to another.
