Kindergarten Winter Starry Nights

Kindergarten Winter Starry Nights

Kindergartners learned about Vincent Van Gogh and took a close look at his painting of Starry Night. Kinders made their own version of Starry Night by using some of the same brush marks in the sky, as Vincent Van Gogh did in Starry Night. Students used black construction paper to cut out shapes for the land, trees, and houses. This was an introduction to silhouettes. For this lesson, students worked on the following learning targets:
- I can create a variety of lines and markings with my paintbrush.
- I can use my scissors to cut out a variety of shapes.
